A beautiful piece! Full of awareness of what our world is doing to people, yet – youthful.
Radio Wrocław Kultura

Lazarus – the last work of David Bowie – is a musical “deep and touching; aesthetically delightful; mesmerizing; causing dizziness; a tribute to the giant of pop culture” as critics wrote after the New York premiere. Jan Klata’s production in The Capitol Musical theater is the Polish premiere of the musical. The performance will feature Bowie’s greatest hits: incl. Life on Mars, This is Not America, Absolute Beginners.

The screenplay by Enda Walsh is the sequel to the science fiction novel The Man Who Fell to Earth and the 1976 film in which David Bowie starred. The film and the book tell about representatives of an alien civilization looking for a place to live on Earth because of the drought ravaging their home planet. One of them, Thomas Newton, operating in human disguise, uses his skills and knowledge to gain power and influence to enable water transport to his planet. Thanks to his superhuman abilities, he gains a fortune but acquires worldly vices: greed and selfishness. He falls into alcoholism. He will not be able to complete his task. Solitary, he longs for his lost love and dreams of returning to his planet.
